REAL MADRID DEFENDER PEPE PICKS UP CALF INJURY
Real Madrid defender Pepe faces another spell in the sidelines as he suffered an injury to the calf muscle in his left leg. “Following the tests carried out on Pepe at the Sanitas la Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a grade 2 injury to the inner calf muscle of his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed,” a statement read on the club’s official website. Pepe’s injury leaves Raphael Varane and Nacho Fernandez as Real’s only fit centre-backs and sheds further doubts over his contract extension for the Las Blancos, which expires this summer.
