Barcelona chief executive Oscar Grau says they will not cave in to Lionel Messi’s colossal wage demands when offering the Argentine star a new contract. Reportedly, Messi wants to be the highest paid player in the club exceeding the wage rates of Luis Suarez and Neymar. Guru indicated that the size of the new contract will be based on the club’s sponsorship revenue and player sales.
“We need to comply with the ratios of debt and the percentage of salaries in the budget,” Grau said
“I want the best player in history to remain here.”
Messi’s current deal expires in 18 months.
