Crystal Palace is close to agreeing a permanent transfer deal for Patrice Evra with Juventas, Sky in Italy reports. A number of clubs is pursuing the Frenchman but it is understood that Crystal Palace are favorites to secure his signature.
Evra would be returning to the Premier League two and a half years after his £5.5m move to Juventus from Manchester United, should the deal go through.
Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce said on Thursday that he will be looking for reinforcements in the January transfer market to rebuild his defense.
Crystal Palace is also reportedly pursuing Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson.
