CHINESE SUPER LEAGUE RESTRICTS FOREIGN PLAYER SIGNINGS
Chinese Super League clubs will be allowed to field only three non-Chinese players per match from the next season, starting in March. Previously the clubs were allowed to play 4 non Asian+1 non Chinese Asian players in their squads. The decision could decrease the number of big money signings from Europe to the league. Chinese Super League clubs have been offering extravagant wages to lure away players from the European Leagues. Chelsea’s Diego Costa is the latest to be linked with a big money move to the Far East which would see the Spaniard earning £30m per year.
