Montreal Impact captain Patrice Bernier has announced that he has re-signed for Montreal Impact for the new season and will be retiring at the end of the season.
The 38 year old midfielder is the current club captain and has spent nine seasons with the Montreal based club.
“I am very excited to be able to finish my playing career at home with the Impact,” Bernier said in a press release on Monday. “I am proud that this will be my 18th professional season, including nine with the Impact. For my last season, I will give everything for the club and the city, with a hope that we finish with the MLS Cup.”
Bernier made 25 appearances for the club last season and made three assists.
