Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen will be unavailable for six months due to an ankle ligament injury, manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed.
The Belgian suffered a blow to his ankle during the second half of Saturday’s match against West Brom.
The fans, however, will be relieved to know that Veronghen will not require surgery.
Initially, it was thought that the injury might rule out the 29 year old for the rest of the season.
Tottenham face Manchester City on Saturday in the Premier League.
