FRANK LAMPARD RETIRES FROM FOOTBALL

Ex England and Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has retired after an impressive 21 year long career.

Lampard , who played for MLS side New York City last season, announced his retirement via social media on Thursday.

“Whilst I have received a number of exciting offers to continue playing, at 38 I feel now is the time to begin the next chapter in my life,” said Lampard.

“I’m grateful to the Football Association for the opportunity to study for my coaching qualifications and I look forward to pursuing the off-field opportunities that this decision opens.”

Lampard won 11 major titles in his 649 match career at Chelsea. He also appeared 106 times for England.
