Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has called Manchester United a “small team” when asked about Manchester United’s interest in Antoine Griezmann.
Manchester United are eager to make the Frenchman their marquee signing this summer as Jose Mourinho hopes to restore the club’s European powerhouse status.
According to reports, the Red Devils are ready to meet his £85m release clause and have made significant progress in convincing him to leave Atletico for United.
Griezmann is under contract with the Spanish outfit until 2021, but Cerezo insists he is going nowhere.
“Manchester United?” Cerezo replied when asked about Griezmann’s potential exit by reporters.
“I believe in the contracts that people sign, that goes for [Diego] Simeone and Griezmann.”
