BAYERN MUNICH DEMOLISH ARSENAL TO REACH CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL
Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League round of 16 for the seventh consecutive time as Bayern Munich matched their 5-1 thrashing of Arsenal last month.
Arsenal had to overturn a four goal deficit to go through and had a great start as Theo Walcott scored a stunning goal in the 20th minute to put them forward.
But the tie was killed off when Laurent Koscielny was shown a controversial red in the second half and Robert Lewandowski scored from the resulting penalty.
The home side then folded as Bayern scored four goals in 17 minutes. Arjen Robben robbed Alexis Sanchez of the ball and beat Ospina, before Douglas Costa made it 3-1 with a stunning solo goal and Arturo Vidal snatched up a late brace.
