David Moyes was forced to apologise after threatening to slap a female reporter.

Footage from a camera phone has revealed Moyes threatening BBC reporter Vicki Sparks after he thought cameras had stopped rolling following an interview.

The threat was made after Moyes’ Sunderland side had drawn 0-0 against Burnley last month when Sparks asked whether he was under pressure from club chairman Ellis Short.

Sparks was then told by Moyes: “It was getting a wee bit naughty at the end there so just watch yourself. You still might get a slap even though you’re a woman.”

He then added: “Careful the next time you come in.”

It was later confirmed by both Sunderland and BBC that Moyes have apologized to Vicki for his comments.
