Once it became common knowledge that Walker would be leaving Spurs for Manchester City, a deleted tweet of the England right back went viral.
This was in the aftermath of a brilliant Premier League match between Manchester City and Tottenham that was full of controversy.
Manchester City won 3-2 on January 22, 2012 thanks to a late Mario Balotelli penalty.
Kyle Walker played the full 90 minutes for Spurs and after the game Tweeted the following message:
“All u man city fans u can talk now we will just see at the end of the season… was u all there when city was nowhere to be seen #gloryfans”.
A few hours later, Walker deleted the Tweet and apologised, posting: “Apologise for this tweet just so gutted about the result today, sometimes football gets the better of u. Night”.
