Itching Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has not been out of a job for over 2 months, but he is already itching to get back into a job. “I want to coach,” said Mourinho, in an interview of the ex-United manager while he was covering the AFC Asian Cup. Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United after collecting just 26 points through 17 matches, but he is not ready to call it quits just yet. “I am too young [to retire], I am in football for a long, long time but I will be 56 in a couple of weeks and am really too young.” Although Mourinho is fairly young at 55 years old, he has already accomplished so much in his 17 year career. Mourinho has stacked trophies in nearly every club he has managed, including two league titles, one UEFA Cup, and a Champions League Trophy with FC Porto, three league titles and four domestic tournament cups for Chelsea, a Copa Del Rey and La Liga title with Madrid, and two league titles, two domestic tournament cups, and another Champions League Trophy with Inter Milan.  “Where I am going to stay is where I belong, I belong to top football. I belong to top-level football and that is where I am going to be.”
Mourinho was asked about Real Madrid, and the situation going on there. He had little to say about the current affairs of Madrid, but commented on speculation that he would be considered a candidate for the job in the future. He recalled great success with Madrid that was overlooked due to the failure of Champions League he had managing Madrid, and the negative reaction of the fans , “People sometimes forget because a Champions League is something worldwide,“ But we won the Spanish Cup and the league with a record 100 points, to make 100 points you need to win matches, a lot of matches, and the record for goals scored. Jose is referring to the 2011-12 Real Madrid team that took the La Liga title that season, and started the great run that Madrid made from 2011-2017 across all competitions.
“With Real Madrid we have the record for goals scored in Spanish football.” Mourinho was asked about the best team that he had managed in his long career, with the Portuguese manager choosing his Inter Milan side.
“I have to say Inter because we won everything. I have to be objective, respectful to them and say a team that won everything, from day one until the last day, won all the competitions,” “They won the treble, they beat the best team in the world, Barcelona, 3-1, beat Bayern Munich in the final 2-0, won the league in Italy with a fantastic number of points, won the cup, won three finals in 10 days.
“I have to say they’re the best team.”
