Liga MX and Major League Soccer have confirmed the creation of an annual Leagues Cup between clubs from both competitions. The inaugural edition will begin the United States at the end of July. The eight teams competing have already been paired up and will see Houston take on Club America, Real Salt Lake host Tigres, Chicago against Cruz Azul and LA Galaxy will face Club Tijuana. Every MLS team will play at home. In fact, the entire tournament will take place in the U.S. In the case of an all Liga MX or all MLS matchup, the matches will be played in either Houston or Los Angeles, with the final set to take place on September 18.
