Honoring Howard

The US Soccer Federation honored US Men’s National Team legend Tim Howard in a pregame ceremony ahead of USMNT’s friendly tie with CONCACAF rivals Mexico at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The goalkeeper, who will retire as a professional soccer player after the end of the current MLS season with Colorado Rapids, received a framed U.S. jersey bearing his name and the number 121 — a reference to his number of international appearances — as a commemorative video played on screens around the stadium. Howard holds multiple USMNT goalkeeping records, including most games (121), starts (119), wins (62) and World Cup appearances (8).
