  • Of the 111 occasions of a side conceding at least 5 goals at home, only three times in Premier League history has a side conceded their 5th goal of the game by the 50th minute – Burnley 1-6 Man City (2010) Southampton 0-9 Leicester (2019) Man Utd 0-5 Liverpool (2021).
  • Manchester United’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool was only the second time in 617 top-flight league appearances that Cristiano Ronaldo ended on the losing side by 5+ goals in a match, with the other a 5-0 defeat as a Real Madrid player against Barcelona in November 2010.
  • Liverpool are only the second team in English top-flight history to win consecutive away games by a margin of 5+ goals without conceding themselves, after Manchester United in February/March 1960.
  • Mathias Jattah-Njie Jorgensen has scored in four Premier League games and has finished on the losing side on each occasion. He is the only player score in 4+ games in the competition while losing every time.
  • All 52 of Michail Antonio’s Premier League goals have been scored from inside the penalty area. Only Tim Cahill (56) and Chicharito (53) have scored more goals in the competition with 100% of them coming from inside the box.
  • Watford’s Josh King is just the third player to score a Premier League hat-trick against a side he’s previously played for in the competition, after Andy Cole (for Man Utd vs Newcastle) and Marcus Bent (for Wigan vs Blackburn).
  • Mason Mount is the 20th different player to score a Premier League hat-trick for Chelsea, with only Arsenal (21) having more different hat-trick scorers in the competition.
  • Atletico Madrid have won more points from losing positions than any other side in the top five European leagues in 2021 (25) and they’ve won the most points after conceding the first goal of the game in LaLiga this season (8).
  • Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak has become the first player to both score and assist against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano.
  • At 33 years and 144 days, Sergio Aguero has become the oldest player to score in his El Clasico debut in the 21st century.
  • David Alaba is the fifth Real Madrid player to score on his El Clasico debut.
  • Paulo Dybala is the first Juventus’ player to score in three consecutive matches against Inter in Serie A in the three points per win era (since 1994/95).
  • AS Roma and Napoli have drawn nil-nil a Serie A match at AS Roma’s home for the first time since February 1980.
  • Giovanni Simeone is the first Hellas Verona player to score 3+ in a single Serie A match v Lazio – this is his second hat-trick in the competition, both against a Maurizio Sarri’s side.
  • FC Bayern have earned 9 points from their first three games of this season’s UEFA Champions League, scoring 12 goals and conceding none – this is the best start to a Champions League season for the club, and the joint-best overall in the competition.
