Massimiliano Allegri says he will not “deny or confirm anything” as the rumors about Allegri replacing Arsene Wenger as the Arsenal manager next season continue to intensify.
The Gunners boss is under heavy scrutiny as his team’s title charge took a massive hit in the recent weeks after back to back defeats to Watford and Chelsea.
Wenger, who has already been offered a two year contract extension, runs out of contract at the end of this season and is yet to decide on his future.
Allegri is Arsenal’s number one choice should Wenger decide to drop the curtains on his 21 year old reign at Arsenal, according to multiple sources.
However, Allegri – speaking after Serie A leaders Juve defeated Crotone 2-0 on Wednesday – insists that the rumours are mere paper talk.
“I won’t deny or confirm anything,” he told Mediaset Premium. “I am in sync with the club, now we have to focus on winning.
Allegri has won Serie A and the Coppa Italia twice with Juve and led the club to the 2015 Champions League final.
