Thiago Alcantara has sustained a thigh injury during the Bayern Munich’s mid season training sessions in Qatar. The Spaniard has been ruled out for Bayern’s first Bundesliga tie after the winter break against Freiburg on January 20. Bayern Munich mager Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that the 25 year old will not be sidelined for more than three weeks.
“It is a pity, but these things can happen,” Ancelotti said.
“I hope he won’t be out for too long. Three weeks, maybe.”
“We are checking it in Munich,” Ancelotti continued. “I hope he will be able to play against Arsenal.”
Bayern Munich is scheduled to face Arsenal in a UCL round of 16 tie at Allianz Arena on February 15 before flying to London for the return leg on March 7.
