Christian Eriksen is ill and has joined suspended duo Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen in missing Tottenham’s Champions League tie at Apoel Nicosia.
The Dane fell ill on Sunday and did not travel to Cyprus with the squad.
Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela are all injured and also miss out.
“It’s not an excuse to have some players out of the squad,” said boss Mauricio Pochettino before Tuesday’s match.
“Christian is a very important player for us. It’s true we will miss him but we need to move on, we need to find a way to play and perform and try to win.
“He is ill, he stays in London, and we trust the player who comes into his position. I am not a manager who cries because a player cannot play.
“It’s about the team, the squad, quality, effort and we have a very strong squad to try to win.”
Attacking midfielder Alli serves the second of a three-match ban following his red card against Gent in the Europa League in February.
Defender Vertonghen, meanwhile, was sent off in Spurs’ 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.
