Manchester United have triggered a clause in Marouane Fellaini’s contract to extend the Belgian’s stay at Old Trafford until 2018. Fellaini signed a four year deal at Manchester United with a one year extension clause in 2013 when he left Everton for a £27.5m transfer fee. Fellaini was booed by his own fans last month when he gave away a penalty at Goodison Park but played an important part in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Hull on Tuesday by scoring a goal. Speaking after Tuesday’s victory, Mourinho said: “He has a very strong mentality and has coped well.
“He knows he is a very important player for me.”
