Manchester United will be without all four of their recognised senior strikers for the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Chelsea on Monday, according to a writer for the BBC.
Simon Stone confirmed on Twitter that Wayne Rooney was injured in a clash with Phil Jones in training after coming off worse than the defender.
The severity of the injury is not known but Stone did claim that Rooney would not be fit for United’s match against Antonio Conte’s men.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is already suspended for the Chelsea game following his retrospective three-match ban picked up for elbowing Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings last weekend.
And the BBC also reports that Anthony Martial will be missing through injury and that Marcus Rashford will sit it out with illness.
