Barcelona star Lionel Messi has bid farewell to Neymar and wished him luck in his time at Paris Saint-Germain as the Brazilian nears a €222 million move to the French capital.

“It was a great pleasure to have shared all these years with you my friend,” he wrote. “I wish you good luck in this new phase of your life.”

Barca confirmed Neymar said goodbye to his team-mates and missed training on Wednesday to finalise his world-record transfer, having asked the club to let him leave.
