Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed match-winner Henrikh Mkhitaryan and fellow midfielder Michael Carrick are likely to miss Sunday’s EFL Cup final against Southampton.
Mkhitaryan and Carrick both limped off the field in United’s 1-0 Europa League last-32 victory over St Etienne on Wednesday.
Morinho was quoted after the game “Him (Mkhitaryan) and Michael I think they are both out but this is based on my experience not on my medical knowledge and not based on tests and what they have to do tomorrow. I think no chance.”
Manchester United have won the last 32 tie against St Etienne on 4-0 aggregate to progress into the last 16 of the Europa league.
