Playing their second game with new addition Bastian Schweinsteiger, the Chicago Fire picked up their first win of the Schweinsteiger era, beating visiting Columbus Crew SC 1-0 Saturday at Toyota Park in the middle contest of their three-game homestand.

Orlando City SC edged the New York Red Bulls 1-0 on Sunday as Servando Carrasco headed home a well-worked corner kick routine by the Lions – his first MLS goal in open play – to extend City’s perfect record at their brand-new stadium to 3-0.

Portland Timbers came back with a 3-1 win from Philadelphia  thanks to Roy Miller’s first ever MLS goal, a 66th minute glancing header on an inch perfect Diego Valeri free kick. The result leaves Philadelphia rooted to the bottom of the Eastern Conference and one of only two teams in MLS without a win in 2017.
