Paul Pogba has won the Europa League Player of the Season award after his starring role in Manchester United’s success.
The 24-year-old started every game in Europe’s secondary club tournament last season as Jose Mourinho’s side lifted the crown.
Pogba opened the scoring for United in the final match against Ajax, having previously scored twice against Fenerbahce, while he registered one assist and created 22 chances, according to Opta.
And the former Juventus star was rewarded for his impressive displays when he was given the inaugural award for the player of the year in the competition.
“To be the first one to win the best player, hopefully this season will be as good as last season,” he said.
“Thank you so much.”
