Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Premier League outfit Southampton have sent a formal proposal for Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini.

The Azzurri hope to offload the Italy international by the end of the month having recruited Leonardo Pavoletti, but there hasn’t been too much interest in the player’s services of late.

And while Napoli were aiming to get around €25 million for Gabbiadini, they will probably be forced to accept less if they want to see the 25-year-old leave in January.

Southampton have now emerged as favourites to land the Italian forward having offered €16 million up front plus another €3 million in bonuses.
