UEFA have revealed their Team of the Year for 2017… and there is one major shock.
Neymar, who shattered the world record for a transfer fee when he swapped Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in his £198million move last summer, is not in the starting XI
The Brazilian star is arguably one of the greatest players on the planet, but he is kept out of a massively talented front three this time around.
It can hardly be called a fluke, or a biased decision, either, as 8.8million people voted for their preferred XI.
In fact, the voting turn-out was the largest in the history of the Uefa Team of the Year – as just two new faces made it… both from the Premier League.
Here’s the full XI
Gianluigi Buffon, Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Giorgio Chiellini, Marcelo, Kevin De Bruyne, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard
